In 2001, IDI delivered Turnberry Courts at Leisure World of Maryland in Silver Spring. As the 332 condominiums within three 5- and 9-story buildings were completed, construction was already underway on our next LWMD project, Vantage Point.
We are very proud of our sterling reputation, which is the result of 50 years of visionary development. This timeline will evolve over the course of our anniversary year, as has the company over five decades.

While we have been most commonly recognized for our condominium communities in the DMV, our portfolio encompasses so much more. In 2001, we returned to Puerto Rico for an affordable housing project, Remanso de Cabo Rojo, and delivered 100 single family homes to this new community in southwestern Puerto Rico.

Our commitment to the optimal development of Leisure World of Maryland – with enhanced amenities and a simplified condominium lifestyle – was well received by the over 50 crowd throughout our tenure there. The communities we developed there frequently outsold all others in the metro area, including this one.
Vantage Point, which featured 390 luxury condos within two 10-story buildings, outpaced all its competition multiple years and was sold out when we completed it in 2002.

Our work at Leisure World of Virginia (now Lansdowne Woods of Virginia) continued through the early 2000s, and in 2004 we delivered Potomac Ridge. This 11-story building brought 231 luxury condominiums to our award-winning community for active adults 55 and over.

Just a year after completing Potomac Ridge at Leisure World of Virginia (now Lansdowne Woods of Virginia), we completed work on The Magnolias.
These three 4-story buildings with their 167 condominiums were designed as low rises to preserve the views of residents in buildings further from the Potomac River.

As we continue honoring five decades of community-building and innovation, today we’re proud to highlight Dominion Terrace — a standout example of thoughtful reinvention.
Originally completed in the mid-20th century, in 2005, Dominion Terrace was renovated and transformed from garden apartments into 58 modern condominiums that were purchased by its residents. This project reflects our commitment to preserving neighborhood character while creating contemporary, inviting homes that enhance the surrounding community.

The Overlook at Leisure World of Maryland, completed in 2004 with 260 condominiums thoughtfully arranged over 10 stories. The Overlook stands as a testament to IDI’s enduring commitment to quality, livability, and thoughtful community design. Two decades later, it continues to offer comfort, convenience, and vibrant 55+ living in one of Maryland’s most beloved resort-style communities.

As we celebrate IDI’s 50th anniversary, we’re proud to highlight Costa Brava in Ceiba, Puerto Rico. One of our largest communities outside of the DMV and a true reflection of our dedication to building vibrant, enduring places to call home.
Completed in 2006, Costa Brava spans 24 four- and five-story buildings and delivered 202 condominiums — a community designed to elevate coastal living and bring residents together in a thoughtfully planned environment.
