IDI’s senior management includes three members who have been together for 30 years, and the average tenure of managers in the firm is approaching two decades. IDI has developed some of the memorable projects in the Washington metro area during that span, and continues to lead the condominium and apartment communities in innovation, design excellence, quality workmanship and customer service.
Born in Milan, Italy, Cecchi graduated from the University of Milan in 1955 with a Masters in Professional Engineering. In 1960 he came to the United States to scout real estate investments for the Italian firm Societa’ Generale Immobilare (SGI). SGI’s initial venture in the Washington Metropolitan Area was the now famous “Watergate” project on the Potomac. In 1975 Mr. Cecchi left SGI to form the first IDI Group Company.
As Managing Director and member of the Executive Management Committee, Mr. Cecchi participates in the overall management of the IDI Group Companies. He is directly responsible for overseeing project financing and capital structuring, asset management, property acquisition and selected zoning matters, joint ventures and partnerships, headquarters office management and other legal and contractual matters.

He is directly responsible for overseeing IDI Project Managers, and for coordinating design and engineering, entitlements, construction management, sales and marketing, and customer service.
As Managing Director and member of the Executive Management Committee, Mr. Cecchi participates in the overall management of The IDI Group Companies. He is directly responsible for the management of IDI Residential and Cecchi Homes and will also explore new business development in D.C.
Mr. Dreyfuss has served as IDI’s COO & Project Manager responsible for the development of over 4000 units in numerous condominium projects, including Leisure World of Maryland, Leisure World of Virginia and the Ambassador Hotel conversion to workforce affordable housing in Wheaton, MD, as well as the Leisure World Shopping Plaza.
As Senior Project Manager, Ms. King is heading a “first of its kind” redevelopment project at the transit oriented site, Huntington Central in Alexandria, Virginia in addition to performing due diligence for new acquisitions. As Project Manager for Maryland developments, she oversaw the full lifecycle of more than 1200 condominium units at Turnberry Courts, Vantage Point East and West, The Overlook, and Creekside North and South at Leisure World of Maryland in Montgomery County and at The Reserve at Heritage Harbor in Anne Arundel County.
Mr. Rhodes is currently overseeing the Boulevard VI multi-family mixed use project located in City of Fairfax. He oversaw the development of 1200 condominium homes as Project Manager for The Enclave in Fairfax and for Lansdowne Woods of Virginia (formerly Leisure World), which comprised Riverbend, Blue Ridge, The Magnolias, Potomac Ridge, Riverview, and the Overlook, as well as a 55,000-square-foot clubhouse.
Mr. Jenkins’ responsibilities include directing the accounting, financial, tax and administrative activities; project financing and acquisition financial analysis.
As Project Manager, Ronaldo recently completed the Watermark Condominium, an exclusive 18 unit development overlooking the Potomac River in Old Town Alexandria. He previously worked for IDI on the Puerto Rico developments Costa Esmeralda, Paseo de la Costa, Costa Brava, Santa Rita IV, Hillcrest Village and Hillcrest West, totaling over 800 single family homes and midrise condominiums.
As Project Manager, Nicole is overseeing a joint venture mixed-use development of approximately 900 multifamily dwelling units and 140,000 sf of retail in North Woodbridge, VA. She is a registered architect and has experience in design and construction of a variety of building types from large university master planning to science and technology buildings to multifamily renovations.
Mr. Castaneda currently oversees Rivergate South, an apartment project of 318 units on the Occoquan River in Woodbridge, Virginia. He joined the IDI Group Companies in 2015 and worked as Assistant Project Manager on the Rivergate North development through its completion, lease-up and sale. He has also worked on The Enclave during the condominium transition, customer service and common area warranty phases, and on the Paul VI redevelopment during pre-development.
As Assistant to the Chairman, Sterling is responsible for public and community relations, legislative and political issues, liaison with business and industry organizations, and various corporate administrative functions.
